  1. Hello, I just installed the new smcFanControl 2.6 but I have two problems. The first is that the language of app is not english as before but french (if I reinstall the old 2.5.2 returns in english).
The second problem is that the default RPM (and so the minimum that I can set too) is 4800 and my MacBook is now very noisy. How can I fix this two problems?

  2. Downloaded Mac Sierra and then smcFanControl 2.6

Had version 2.5.2 where I was able to have various speeds set with the Preferences- now in 2.6, the slides are set at 6200rpm, regardless, and can’t be set to a lower speed, such as 2200rpm- prefer 2.5.2, since it is quieter at lower speed.

  3. There are no changes in fan management. You should under “Info & Support”, click on “Reset”. Then restart your machine once. On the next start the old defaults should be available:

  4. Regarding language: smcFanControl is now localised in French. So if your system language is french or the second primary language is french, it will display in that language. To get it back to English, set English as primary for first language in the settings of your Mac.
Regarding fan speed: There are no changes in fan management. You should under “Info & Support”, click on “Reset”. Then restart your machine once. On the next start the old defaults should be available:

  5. Version 2.6 is not working on MacMini running MacOs Sierra. Fan speed will not change when favorite is selected and it always asks for authentication for changing anything. Such as I select a favorite and I get prompted two/three times for my credentials but then no fan speed changes.
